Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher Coming This Summer!

Greta Van Fleet’s Dreams in Gold Tour has come to a close, and things are turning silver. Over the last few weeks, the band’s Instagram story has teased a new single using a countdown of silver emblems, instead of the usual gold aesthetic fans have become so accustomed to.

On March 24th, Greta Van Fleet debuted their new single, “Meeting the Master”, at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Josh prepared the crowd by stating that the song’s lyrics would get quite dark in comparison to the rest of the show. Jake took the stage with his acoustic guitar and, for the first time all night, the crowd went completely silent with anticipation. At this same performance, Sam played a keyboard solo that fans speculated sounded like the “horns of death,” and had fans commenting things like “wait..are we dead?” “looks like we lost the battle at Garden’s Gate” on the TikToks that quickly popped up on everyone’s FYP the next morning. The tracklist includes a few titles that also allude to the possibility of this album exploring the darker elements of the end of one’s life, rather than the usual “ascending to the stars as one,” such as “The Fate of the Faithful,” “The Falling Sky,” and “Farewell for Now.” 

Greta Van Fleet closed out their tour in Sacramento with a hefty Starcatcher-studded setlist, debuting “The Falling Sky,” “Indigo Streak,” “Sacred the Thread,” and “Farewell for Now.” We now know that Starcatcher will be released in its entirety on July 21, 2023! ​
