Twin Temple Tells San Diego, "Burn Your Bible!"

Last night, we were fortunate enough to witness Twin Temple as they opened for Behemoth at the Observatory North Park in San Diego, CA. Satanic doo-wop duo Alexandra and Zachary James sauntered on stage from the shadows to begin their pre-show ritual with the audience, including what appeared to be holy water, or perhaps unholy water, gongs, and plenty of “Hail Satan!”  The crowd proudly raised their devil horns to the sky while Zachary and Alexandra smiled on approvingly.

To many, the idea of "Satanic doo-wop" may sound like an oxymoron. Doo-wop = cutesy, fun. Satan = scary, evil. But for those who are familiar with Twin Temple and their beliefs, it’s clear no harm is meant to anyone. In fact, their tantalizing music infuses campy, spooky themes with conversations on sex, feminism, and harmful social constructs - there's no need to sell your soul or sacrifice any virgins here.

Twin Temple's San Diego performance featured fan favorites, "Satan's A Woman" and "Let's Have A Satanic Orgy" along with their two newest singles, “Be A Slut” and “Burn Your Bible,” from their upcoming album, God is Dead. 

As a music group who rarely follows tradition, Twin Temple offers their fans meet and bleeds as opposed to a meet and greet - no fans were harmed in the process. During a meet and bleed, fans are baptized in (fake) blood by the duo. The line of fans eagerly awaiting their meet and bleed last night stretched down the sidewalk, including one excited concertgoer donning a Jesus costume. 

Twin Temple will continue their 2023 US Tour through October 27, finishing off at the Hollywood Palladium. Their upcoming album, God is Dead, will be available everywhere on Friday October 13, 2023.
